This is the lantern stock owned by Priestley College plus the moving heads that we would be hiring for We Will Rock You. My annotation shows that I have been working out how many lights we have that we can use.
This is my original first manual drawing of the lighting plan for We Will Rock You.
The point of this is so that the designer can easily make a 1st plan of what they imagine they want the show to look like. It is usually done as a manual drawing so that it is easy to rub out and re-do. We have also done a key for the lights as so if anyone needs to look at it and doesnt understand then it is easy to find out what is happening within the plan.
This plan was more difficult than past show I have been involved in as the truss has been put around the stage which obstructs the light from getting to the back when put at the front. This meant that the general wash needed to be at a steeper angle to be lit and an extra line of general wash would need to be used.
